Delete your account

You can delete your Kaif account yourself, from inside the app, in a few taps. If you no longer have the app or cannot sign in, ask us by email and we will do it for you.

In the app

Fastest

Deletion is a single action and needs no approval from us. It takes effect the moment you confirm — your profile leaves other people’s screens straight away.

  1. Open Kaif and go to Settings.
  2. Tap Account, then Delete account.
  3. Read what it tells you, then confirm.

By email

Use this if you have uninstalled the app, lost access to the phone number or address you signed in with, or would simply rather ask a person.

Tell us

  • The email address or phone number the account uses.
  • Your display name on Kaif, if you remember it.

We will ask you to confirm the request from the address or number on the account before we act on it — handing an account to someone impersonating you would be a worse outcome than a short delay. Confirmed requests are completed within 30 days, and usually within a few days.

What deletion does

Straight away, in one step:

  • Your email address, phone number and password are erased from the account.
  • Your photo, bio and name are removed. Anything of yours that remains visible to other people is attributed to “Deleted user”.
  • Push tokens for every device you signed in on are deleted, so the app can no longer reach you.
  • You leave Kaif Radar. The short-lived presence and status entries it keeps expire on their own within two hours.
  • Your club memberships end, and you are removed from every club chat and waitlist.

Everything else is deleted or irreversibly anonymised within 30 days, and leaves our backups within 30 days after that, as the rolling backup window passes.

What can hold deletion up

Money creates obligations that outlast the wish to leave, so the app stops you while any of these is true, and tells you which one it is:

  • You host a club that still has paying members. Transfer it to another host, or wind the club down first.
  • You have a payout still being processed. It has to land before the account it belongs to can go.
  • You are paying for a club membership yourself. Cancel it, so nothing is billed after you have left.

None of these is a refusal. Settle it and deletion goes through exactly as it would have.

What we have to keep

A few things outlive the account — either the law requires it, or they belong to other people as much as to you.

WhatFor how long
Messages you sent to other peopleThey stay in those conversations, shown as from “Deleted user”. A message cannot be recalled from someone else’s phone.
Payment and payout recordsAs long as tax and accounting law requires — generally 5 years.
Identity verification documentsDeleted within 90 days of the decision. Only the outcome and its date are kept.
Reports and enforcement records3 years, so that repeat behaviour can be recognised.
Server logs90 days.

Signing up again

Deletion is final: there is no restore and the old account cannot be recovered. Your email address and phone number are released, so you can sign up again with the same ones whenever you like — the new account simply starts empty.
